Technique for High Contrast Dramatic Monos

A video tutorial

..showing how to get the effects you've seen in my Urban Ugliness series - if you haven't seen the series, I've included some to the left. If you want to, you can see them all in my photo essay on the theme, here.

Tools used in this video:

  • RAW conversion software, I used: Pixmantec's Rawshooter Essentials 2006 with my Canon 350D
    Note that it doesn't support an increasing number of popular cameras, including Canon’s 5D, 40D, 450D/Digital Rebel XSi, and 400D/Digital Rebel XTi; and Nikon’s D40, D40x, D60, D80, D3, and D300
The software was bought by Adobe and is now included as part of Lightroom and the Photoshop Camera RAW plug-in.
  • High Dynamic Range imaging software, I used: DynamicPhoto HDR
  • Photoshop CS3 (PS Elements will be similar, I think)

(NB the video willl start playing after 10% has been loaded...)
