Welcome to my
photo art galleries and blog
Be my
guest...
..and
make your way down the walkway
to the galleries.
You can use the tabs above to
navigate to the main areas of
the site, or use the sitesearch
(top right) as a way in.
Enjoy my work, each image highlighting something
special I've found that I want to share with you. Most are available on
a range of quality products
at Zazzle.com or Zazzle.co.uk
- something for everyone! (links

I love black
and white /
monochrome
(mono tab above), my
genre of choice for now, and you'll find abstract, architectural,
landscape and observational bw images there. I do occasionally stray
and you can see the results in the colour
and flora galleries.
Present focus
Right now I'm working on my Urban Pretty
porfolio. This is a response to my earlier Urban Ugly photo essay, a
subset of which was commissioned by the BBC
Here is one of
them, as used for the cover image of the January 2012 issue of The
Plymouth Magazine.

I'm driven by...
Every artist has something that drives them on.
For me, it's the interplay between:
- light and line
- tone and texture
- pattern and perspective
- structure and
abstraction
I
explore their interaction through my camera lens and in the digital
darkroom, often using black and white and accentuated
contrast as a revealer. Hopefully the final image is
one you'll relate to. Watch the slideshow above and see what I mean by
those
bullet-points...
What's new...
30th January 2012
I
have a bunch of photos ready to upload to the galleries
here. You can see some of them in the slideshow above, with the previous most recent via this
search link.
I've continued to stock my online store over at Zazzle with new designs, expanding my greetings card range extensively. (In honour of the Chinese Year of The Dragon, I even made Chinese Dragon tableware with some artwork I had hanging around.)
In my Zazzle
store
my Desiderata range of posters / prints / canvases is proving
very popular - here's one using my "Wishing Window" image that's really tranquil, well suiting the
words, and which would make a great bedroom wall poster:
Inspirational guidance
The full
Desiderata by Max Ehrmann. Go placidly amidst the noise and haste... An
empty wishing window beckons you on to contemplate the future.
This poem has
inspired young adults who are coming of age since the 1920's and is as
popular today as it ever was. It's been given as a gift by loving
parents, grandparents, godparents and aunts and uncles as essential
life-wisdom ever since it was written.
They've found it
to be one of the few ways for such wisdom to get past those raging
hormones and support the upcoming generation especially through their
rebellious
years!
