Amsterdam Inner Court Entrance

A delightful entranceway to an inner court of Amsterdam. The narrow corridor with vaulted ceilings leads to the courtyard, the Begijnhof. It's one of the oldest inner courts in the city of Amsterdam and is still home to some "Beguine" similar to, but not actually nuns. They didn't take vows nor renounce their property and could return to the world and wed if they chose. Amsterdam 2012.
