Grazing Pony And Lone Gorse

A piebald pony on Dartmoor. This isn't a pure-bred Dartmoor Pony and is more likely a descendant of Arab stock that was intoduced onto Dartoor. True Dartmoors have barrel chests and aren't piebald as this one is. Even so, these ponies still run free on Dartmoor, only being round up during the late Autumn so they can be allocated to herds and particular farmers and then branded as such.
